Apple Crumble

I've often heard about Apple Crumble, but I was never curious about it (mostly because almost every cake/pie/whatever with apples I've tasted so far was disappointing)... until a few weeks ago I've made Apple Crumble for the first time (because of this awesome person who wanted to eat Apple Crumble.) I think I have a new favourite :)

For 3 servings:
1 Apple
45 g Rolled Oats
20 g Dessicated Coconut
15 g Flour
40 g Butter
10-15 g Sugar
1/2 Tsp. Cinnamon

Peel the Apple and cut it into small dices. When you want the apple to be soft, put the diced apple in a bowl with hot water for about 5 minutes.
Meanwhile, mix the other ingredients which will turn them into a crumbly mixture. Put the apples in small ramekins and loosely crumble the mixture over it. Bake them until the top is slightly browned (I put them in the oven at 200° Celsius for about 20 minutes).
If you want to make a large batch of Apple Crumble, use 3 apples and multiply the other ingredients with 4 :)

Banana with Caramelised Walnuts

Well, I'm working on that food-photography thing... it'll get better, I promise! :D

For 1 person:
1 Banana
3-4 Walnuts (chopped)
2 Tbsp. Maple Syrup
Butter/Oil/Whatever prevents that stuff from sticking to your pan :)

Cut the banana in 4 halves and heat it in a pan until it's lightly browned. Let it cool on a plate and meanwhile roast the walnuts with the maple syrup. It should be hot enough to caramelise the syrup quickly, but not hot enough to burn it. When they're done, sprinkle them over the bananas and garnish it with a dash of syrup or liquor, or add a bit cinnamon :)
